Before they drank each other's blood got engaged in January 2022, MGK and Megan started out as friends when they met on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass. When the couple appeared on the jumbotron, the announcer accidentally referred to Megan as MGK's wife. In a video posted by @sportscenter, she laughed before she leaned into him and said "I'm not your wife." But she will be!
It's official — the internet's favorite couple finally got engaged. Megan posted footage from the special moment on Instagram, where she also penned a heartfelt caption. For their engagement, the couple went back to a Banyan tree where Megan said she and MGK asked for magic in July 2020.
"And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes. …and then we drank each other's blood," Megan wrote at the end of her caption. MGK also shared the news by posting a photo of Megan's custom ring and wrote, "'yes, in this life and every life' 💍 beneath the same branches we fell in love under, i brought her back to ask her to marry me. i know tradition is one ring, but i designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022 ✨"
MGK and Megan covered British GQ, where they spilled all the deets about their relationship — seriously, the limit does not exist in this interview.
They talked about how they gave each other "tthe darkest fairytale" tattoos, which is one of the first texts they exchanged. They also dished that they were allegedly working on a film project together and that they met at a party, where MGK's infamous "I am weed" quote originated after Megan told him he smelled like it. They also shared the story of their steamy first kiss, and MGK dropped a very deep quote about their connection. "[Love] should be light, but also we go to hell with each other. It's ecstasy and agony for sure…I don't want people to think anything's perfect with us. I didn't say it was the darkest fairy tale for no reason. God help you if you would've met us last Saturday," he said.
Megan also revealed some highlights of their relationship on Instagram, including "feverish obsession, guns, addiction, lots of blood, therapy, tantric night terrors, binding rituals, and the kind of sex that would make Lucifer clutch his rosary." Does anyone else feel like they're invading something? Just me?
The couple heated up the red carpet at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. Megan wore a sheer custom Mugler dress, which People reports was MGK's idea. "He was like, ‘You're gonna be naked tonight.' I was like, 'Whatever you say, Daddy!'" she said during an interview on the red carpet.
This was also the same night she claimed he was her "future baby daddy" while introducing his performance on stage.
Megan posted some 🔥🔥🔥 pics of herself running errands on Instagram. "This is how I go to Erewhon now. Let's talk about it." Machine Gun Kelly peeped her lock screen — which was a pic of him — and commented "What aisle are you gonna be in? I like your lock screen." TBH, loving this energy.
Megan is InStyle's cover girl, and the couple spilled all the tea in the corresponding interview. MGK was asked to describe his girlfriend in one word, to which he replied "She’s like the earth. When it's summer, it's the hottest summer. When it's winter, it's the most amazing chill. In the fall and spring, it's a beautiful transition. She is unlike any person I have ever met in my life."
"I just want people to understand this is real. I don't think people get the opportunity to believe in real, great love, and that's what we have together," he added. Whew, okay. Anyone got a tissue I can use?
Megan also clapped back at the double standards and criticism she received for being a few years older than Colson. "The fact that he's four years younger than me and people want to act like I'm dating a younger man. He's 31, and I'm 35. Granted, he's lived like he's 19 his whole life, but he isn't 19. No one would blink twice if George Clooney was dating someone four years younger," she told the outlet. "Four years? Go f--k yourself. We would have been in high school together. That's so ridiculous that women are treated that way."
A few days after the BBMAs, the couple wore color-coordinating outfits to the 2021 iHeart Radio Music Awards.

Megan and MGK made their first red carpet appearance as a couple at the 2020 American Music Awards. According to Cosmopolitan, Megan also has a tiny tattoo dedicated to him that reads "el pistolero," which means "gunfighter" in English.
MGK was Nylon's November 2020 cover star and Megan dished on her connection with him in the interview. "Loving him is like being in love with a tsunami or a forest fire," she said. "The intensity of merging with him is just overwhelming, and the threat it poses is so powerful but so beautiful that you have no choice to surrender with reverence and with gratitude."
Megan is definitely Colson's muse, because she made a cameo in his music video for "Drunk Face" where they shared a kiss.
MGK told Howard Stern that it was love at first sight with Megan. "I didn't know what [love] was until me and her made eye contact. That's when I was like, 'Whoa,'" he said. He also dished that he'd "just sit there and hope" something between them would happen on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass.
"It was my first experience with being open to love and stuff like that," he added. "I definitely wasn't set up to believe that that's something that could ever exist."

Cosmopolitan reported that MGK officially met Megan's kids officially met each other. There was no confirmation if she also met his 12-year-old daughter, but things are clearly getting serious. A source also told Us Weekly that "It's too soon [for marriage] for everyone, both of their kids and Brian included. They are definitely super into each other. MGK is obsessed with Megan."

The couple appeared on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett's podcast and talked about filming Midnight in the Switchgrass. Megan dished that she felt something would happen between her and MGK when he was cast. "Because I knew — I could feel that some wild sh-t was going to happen to me from that meeting, but I wasn't yet sure what. I just felt it like, deep in my soul — that something was going to come from that," the Jennifer's Body actress said.
"I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame. Instead of a soulmate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time," she explained. "So we're actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away."
An astrologist was actually on the podcast, and she told the twin flames they were "destined for marriage" (!!!).
The Daily Mail reported that Megan and MGK kissed after a night out in Sherman Oaks, and they've got the pics to prove it. That same day, MGK tweeted lyrics to "Bloody Valentine" and seemingly confirmed his relationship status with Megan. "'I'm calling you girlfriend, what the f--k.' Life imitated art on that one," he wrote.
MGK officially dropped his music video for "Bloody Valentine" where Megan plays his dominant love interest. The rapper-turned-pop punk artist told Teen Vogue that he actually wanted her to step on his face. "It's no secret. I think feet are beautiful. And I think Megan has the most beautiful feet that exist. I was like, 'Megan, you already know what I'm about to ask you,'" he told the outlet. "And she was like, 'Yeah, I literally got a pedicure just ’cause I knew you were gonna ask me that.' So I was like, 'All right. Well, plop it on.'" Erm, okay then.
A source told E! News that Megan and MGK are more than friends despite Megan's ex, Brian Austin Green saying that it was only a friendship on his podcast. "Megan has been working on a movie with Machine Gun Kelly and gotten close to him. They are hooking up and have been for a little while," the source said. "She is separated from Brian Austin Green, and they are taking time apart as a couple. She has something going on with Machine Gun Kelly that she is excited about."
After rumors about Megan and her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green's divorce started circulating, she was pictured grabbing takeout with MGK in Calabasas by the Daily Mail. Megan and Brian had also ditched their wedding rings at this point.
Before the U.S. started its COVID-19 lockdown, Megan and Machine Gun Kelly met on the set of their movie, Midnight in the Switchgrass. They only got to film together for two weeks before filming shut down, but they still formed a strong bond. "The downtime has been good for them.…They are intrigued by each other and having a lot of fun," a source told E! News at the time.
