Everything Announced In The Latest Splatoon 3 Direct - New Stuff, 3-Player Turf Wars, And Rewards For Splatoon 2 Players | Nintendo Life

2022-08-12 21:34:12 By : Ms. Wang Jing

Updated with info from the Splatoon website!

Nintendo's August Splatoon 3 Direct was jam-packed (or should that be ink-packed?) with new stuff, announcements, sneak-peeks and more for the upcoming splat-shooter, and if you missed it — or just need a refresher on what was announced — then we've got you covered, li'l squid!

(Update: We've just added even more info from the Splatoon 3 website that wasn't covered in the trailer. Booyah!)

Now let's get our hooks into that delicious new content!

First up, here's the stream VOD in case you missed it:

Players can now enter photo mode to take snaps of their characters and the surroundings. These photos can be shared on social media, sent to friends, or used as decor in the customisable lockers.

Players can use Squid Surge to swim up walls quickly in a single burst.

A technique designed for fast 180-turns, the Squid Roll also includes a brief i-frame that repels ink when the character glows.

The two weapon abilities "Main Power Up" and "Bomb Defense Up DX" have been removed to make way for these two new abilities:

Improves the Squid Roll and Squid Surge moves.

New stages include Eeltail Alley, Scorch Gorge, Mincemeat Metalworks, and Undertow Spillway. There are 12 stages available at launch, including some returning ones, but more stages will be added in post-launch updates.

A bow-like weapon which can fire in three directions at the same time, with the ability to fire charged shots which freeze and then explode.

Part-katana, part-windscreen wiper, the Splatana Wiper is a long-range weapon that can shoot ink in wide arcs using centrifugal force. Charge it up to release vertical slices that can help squid kids swim up walls with ease.

A vending machine that provides up to four players with in-game drinks to boost their stats and abilities. Plop it down at the start of a match for a tactical advantage!

A shark pool float which zooms around the arena, exploding the enemy with ink.

A tactical post that releases waves of energy, identifying enemy positions and dealing them damage. You can jump over the waves to avoid it!

Weapon freshness will also return in Splatoon 3, with a twist. Instead of augmenting your weapon's functionality, it will earn you Sheldon Licenses or "ornamental armaments" for your locker! Also, if you buy duplicate gear, you'll be able to gain more XP, and get Ability Chunks faster with higher star power.

Three new amiibo will be released this Winter:

The amiibo can be scanned to access exclusive gear, take photos with them, and to save your character’s gear combinations as Fresh Fits.

Some Splatoon 2 amiibo will be restocked alongside the new ones:

New Splatoon 3 amiibo Revealed, Including Inkling, Octoling, And Smallfry

Replacing Marina and Pearl, the Splatsville hosts from Splatoon 2, are new trio (yes, trio) Deep Cut: Frye, Shiver, and Big Man, who is a stingray. They’re still musicians, so expect to see them perform some of Splatoon 3’s new music, like Anarchy Rainbow. Their music seems notably more festival-themed than the poppy, hip-hoppy stuff from previous games.

Deep Cut's news updates can be read on the go while your character is able to move around Splatsville, and can even be skipped altogether!

Splatfest is back on August 27th, two weeks ahead of Splatoon 3’s launch on the 9th September. Instead of two sides, this time, there will be three!

For future Splatfests, there is a period called the "Splatfest Sneak Peek", in which players will be able to earn conch shells after the theme is announced, but before it begins, by battling and doing Salmon Runs. These shells can be used to unlock Splashtag themes and locker items at the Shell-Out Machine in the Lobby, and will also impact the final results — meaning that players can help out during the Sneak Peek even if they can't attend the final event.

Splatfests can occasionally be 10x, 100x, and even 333x battles, which multiply your Clout earnings. The more conch shells you have, the more likely you are to trigger a multiplication!

According to our calculations, here’s how the results add up: Total votes: +10 pts Conch shells per player during Sneak Peek: +10 pts Individual Clout from Splatfest Battle (Open) and Tricolor Turf War: +15 pts Individual Clout from Splatfest Battle (Pro): +10 pts

Oh, and all Splatfest participants will receive a free Splatfest Tee in-game with Ability Doubler as a primary ability. You'll have to return it at the end, but you'll get Super Sea Snails in return, with the number you receive based on your rank.

Splatoon 3's First Splatfest Will Be Playable Later This Month In Free Demo

A post-launch update will bring the option to use keywords to ensure that you match with friends, or — for example — opt in to a very cool Nintendo Life tournament. Just sayin'.

Splatoon 3 will finally support Save Data Backup, which means that all online progression in the game will be stored on Nintendo's servers. Yay!

Nintendo appears to have run out of two-sided battles to pit Splatoon players against each other, as the new Turf Wars gimmick in Splatoon 3 is three-sided battles. Turf Wars will now be split into two halves: The first is regular 4-v-4 battles between the three teams, which determines who will start from the centre of the map in the second half, where all three teams compete in the Tricolor Turf War battle as a 4-v-2-v-2 match.

The first Turf War, which is part of the August 27th Splatfest, will allow players to choose between Rock (Shiver’s team), Paper (Frye’s team), and Scissors (Big Man’s team).

And good news: You can also play Turf Wars with friends on the same team, finally!

Loads of online multiplayer games have some sort of customisable badge system to display your colours, and now Splatoon 3’s getting in on it with Splashtags. These appear before a match, and can be customised with a title (like Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ titles), a background, and a badge to show off your achievements. You can also change the emote that your character does upon winning a match.

Your Splashtag nickname (which you get to choose in-game) is separate to your Nintendo ID name, and although you have a unique ID number tied to your Splatoon character, your name doesn't have to be wholly unique. You can change your nickname, too (and be warned, your ID number will change with it) — but "you'll have to wait a bit before changing it again", according to the Splatoon website.

Your locker, which will appear in the lobby of players you’ve recently played with, can also be customised to display weapons, objects, photos, and more. You can also change the colour of the locker.

Customisation options will appear in the catalogue at Hotlantis, which will offer new items on a regular, seasonal basis every three months for the next two years.

Splatoon 3 will have a basic achievement system, which will allow you to earn catalogue points to spend on Hotlantis' customisation options.

Splatoon 3 is getting a companion app, called SplatNet 3. It can be accessed through the Nintendo Switch Online app on your phone, which you’ll need a membership for.

SplatNet 3 will give you access to battle records, unique app-only gear, and something called Crusty Sean’s Wandercrust, which appears to be the ability to fund Crusty Sean’s backpacking trip using Inked Points earned through gaining territory in battle.

A new mode in Splatoon 3, where players can ditch the ink for cards. Tableturf Battle is a 1-v-1 competitive game where cards are played to “ink” a grid-based battlefield, with over 150 cards to collect.

Anarchy Battles is the new name for Splatoon 2’s Ranked Battle mode. All four rotating ‘rules’ – Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker and Clam Blitz – are returning, and players will be able to compete for the best rankings in these objective-based blast-outs.

If you’re looking to play with friends, you can join Anarchy Battle (Open). But, if you’re thinking of going it alone, there's also Anarchy Battle (Series).

You can access Anarchy Battles as soon as you're level 10, or as soon as you transfer Splatoon 2 save data. Your Anarchy Battle rank will be determined by your wins, losses, and medals:

Threshold analysis shows ranks go from C- to C, C+, B-, B, B+, A-, A, A+, S, and then S+0. Actually, the S+0 ranking can go all the way up to S+50!

In Splatsville, once you get a rank, it won't go down as you play. However, all player ranks will go down slightly every three months for the new season.

How's this calculated? First, look at the highest rank each player has reached up to that point. In theory, a rank will drop by 2 from the highest rank the player has achieved. The S+0 to S+9 crew will drop to S, and anyone above that will revert to S+0.

Our data indicates that the method of adjusting ranks may change in future updates.

You can now see your friends in the lobby as ghosts, which allows you to join their matches, watch what they’re doing, and mess around with them before a match begins. There’s a training area in the lobby, too, which you and your ghosty pals can use to test out weapons and tactics ahead of time.

The lobby also allows you to replay your last 50 battles with the Memory Player. You can fast-forward, switch character view, and send clips to friends, or save a limited number of battle replays to the system for a limited amount of time (after which they'll be deleted).

The Crab-N-Go is a shop in the player lobby that sells you food and drinks to boost your stats in battle — or buy something to share amongst your whole team!

Judd is also in the lobby — you know, the cat from the Turf Wars — and he can give you battle tips.

If you played Splatoon 2, you'll be able to access a few extras as a reward:

You'll be able to transfer your Splatoon 2 save data when you launch Splatoon 3, but bear in mind that you can only do it once per Nintendo account, and it'll need to be on the same system and same account.

The catalogue of customisation options for lockers and splashtags will be released every three months from launch for two years, and is available to every player for free. New weapons will be added at the same time.

New stages will also be added to the 12 that are available from launch.

A notification channel will be added in a later update, which will let you input a keyword to join your friends or a larger group of players, united by a single cause. This will add the ghosts of people using the same keyword into your lobby.

Other planned updates include X Battle and League Battle, which allow high-ranking players to go head-to-head with other players that match their abilities.

X Battles match you with seven other similarly-ranked players (who can't be your friends!) in your region (Asia/Australia/New Zealand, or North America/Europe). The top 500 players from X Battles will be given a reward, although we don't know what that is.

League Battles let you play in teams of two or four, and then compete with other teams across a two-hour tournament. Apparently there will also be special modes in these battles.

Although we have no specifics, Nintendo is planning “large-scale paid DLC” in the future.

Nintendo Announces Splatoon 3 "Large-Scale Paid DLC", Details Two Years Of Post-Launch Support

Splatoon 3 will give players the ability to draw small cartoons (or write words, or post memes) and have them be visible in Splatsville to other players… just like Miiverse did. And this time, you can do vertical art, too!

Up to four players can battle the Salmonids in the returning Salmon Run mode, which can now be played whenever you want — it's open 24/7. You'll earn catalogue points, alongside the usual Grizzco Points and reward capsules.

Boss Salmonids have been added, like Slammin’ Lid and Big Shot, and a super-giant King Salmonid called Cohozuna, who can turn up at the end of a match. Players can defeat this large lad using the new Egg Cannon, which fires out Golden Eggs to deal massive damage.

Cohozuna's appearance is called an Xtrawave, which means that it's fully optional — if you lose this wave, you have still completed the Salmon Run, but you can earn rare fish scales by beating Cohozuna. These scales, like most of the other currencies in the game, can go towards locker items, Splashtag designs, and Grizzco outfits for use in Salmon Run, and they come in three varieties, with the rarest ones appearing more often on higher difficulty levels.

There's also a new maximum rank for Salmon Run pros that replaces Profreshional: Eggsecutive VP! This will increase your earning power, but also the difficulty of Salmon Run.

The Splatoon 3 Direct also promised a new mode called Big Runs in the future, which sees the Salmonids invading Splatsvile itself…

The single-player Story Mode is perfect for new players to learn the inky ropes, and it concerns the Octarian Army, a group of weird, hairy fishies. You will play as new recruit to the New Squidbeak Splatoon, Agent 3, who is tasked with finding out the secrets behind Alterna, the Fuzzy Ooze.

That's all for now, but check back with us for all the Splatoon 3 info as it comes in. If you're already sold on Splatoon 3 and/or the amiibo, make sure to peruse our pre-order guides:

What was your favourite announcement from the Splatoon 3 Direct today? Tell us in the comments!

Formerly of Official Nintendo Magazine, GameSpot, and Xbox UK, you can now find Kate's writing all over the internet. She moved to Canada a few years ago, but gets tea imported from England, because she has good priorities.

I completely understand why some people still view this game as an expansion or an update, but to me, all these features make for a game that I think will feel drastically different and improved from 2. I can see myself sinking a ton of hours into this one.

I wonder how populated Splatoon 2 will be after 3 releases. It's always sad when a beloved favourite game becomes a ghost town.

This Direct is what finally pushed me to buy the game especially when they said the story mode was the "Epic finale of the splattasic saga".

I'm going to enjoy this game. Not sure about the new weapons though. Splatanna is too similar to Brush. Also only new mode is Tricolor Turf War.

I don't need to mention the fact that there was an Inkling dabbing and an Octoling doing the macarena

I'm definitely interested, but considering I already own Splatoon 2 and the upcoming launches of nier automata, mario rabbids, persona 5, bayonetta 3, and pokemon, this is gonna have a lower priority on my list

It was a tiny detail that is understandably being overshadowed by everything else, but "Big Run" events sound fun as hell. Absolutely yes I will fight off kaiju fish from invading the main hub. Very much looking forward to it.

The only thing I want is to be able to skip the stages and updates presentation when the game boot, that’s it. Instabuy if it’s there 😋

The Tableturf Battle was an interesting surprise. I'll definitely want to check that out!

Also, the new idols definitely have their own flair!

Would've been nice to get more details on the story mode, but it can be nice to go into that sort of thing more or less blind.

Also glad that the primary ability bonus of outfits can be changed, now. I definitely would've switched my fashion up more in Splatoon 2 if that had been a feature. Wish they would've also done the same with the weapons' specials/sub-items, though.

Kinda bummed they confirmed the limited mode rotations and having only 2 stages per rotation will continue to be a thing. I was hoping the third time around would finally correct this. And it would've been nice to get more new stages, rather than so many returning ones.

Also hoping the season pass-esque clothing catalog doesn't arbitrarily lock off existing things every 3 months. I like having options, and don't like feeling forced to play things at specific times in regular intervals.

Will the game has 4-player split screens? That's the only selling point for me and the families, we hardly ever play online.

Compared to 2, 3 is looking like the complete Splatoon experience, especially when adding in the customization and side activities. As for why it’s on the same console generation as 2? It’s a solid sales performer. But also, the dev team may have drastic things in mind for 4, if 3-way Splatfest battles are any indication. Think…larger team battles (8 v 8, or 4-way team battles), vehicles, more melee type weapons and combat. Stuff that may need more power from…wait for it…a more powerful system!

@StarPoint it's as if people don't understand what a sequel is...

I’m so excited for this game and to get back into Splatoon after not playing much in the last couple of years. That was an excellent presentation.

Good choice of returning stages and the new weapons and specials look really fun. The replay feature is a great addition because I frequently found myself saving clips mid-fight in Splatoon 2. I’ll probably end up spending way too much time playing that weird card game and I’m looking forward to playing Salmon Run again with the changes they’ve made to it. Three team fights in Splatfest are going to be very interesting too.

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about it just more Splatoon or whatever and I don’t really get it. If you’re not a big enough fan of the series to be excited by this game or just aren’t ready for a new entry then that’s fine, can always just not buy it, right? Nothing wrong with it existing though for those of us that are ready for more after five years.

All I need is a nice single player dlc campaign. I never play online. Everything looks good to me so far!

Looks absolutely perfect. Cannot wait to dive into it!!!

New drinking game. Take a shot with every "ink" pun.

Would like to have learnt more about story mode, but we only got a couple of seconds.

But is the online party system fixed? It was very annoying that my friend would have to wait through multiple matches before being able to join my battles (on my team or against my team). I would buy Splatoon 3 if they solely fixed that issue.

I doubt this Direct will have done anything for the people who aren't mad into Splatoon but as someone who is? Amazing idols, new techniques, quality of life, tons of new NPC species, brilliant music, tons of old stages, Story Mode being merged with Octo Expansion and a ******* KATANA.

September 9th can't come soon enough honestly.

While I truly enjoyed the Hip-Hop/Techno of "Off The Hook" the new Japanese/Hindi hybrid is interesting and definitely different

Yeah not what I was looking for. I’m sure it will sell well.

@Zeldawakening By the looks of it at around 32:20 in the video, it seems to be easier to join friends.

Yeah the big run events are gonna be my most anticipated new thing because just the idea of having like an apocalypse invasion kinda thing just sounds cool

When Splatoon 1 came out it was the most original game to come along for years. 2 was more of the same with only the Octo expansion making it unique. This just seems more of the same without anything for me to sink my teeth into, so I’m skipping it. That leaves a maybe for Mario Rabbids 2, and a definite for Bayonetta 3 for me this year.

As much as I love splatoon my biggest problem is that I wish they leaned further into the chaos and added some new variations to turf war outside of splatfests like a 5v5 or 6v6 mode, or a 4v4v4 or something on a bigger map. Also the catalogue seems to be like a battle pass right? That’s pretty cool

i really enjoyed the direct. its easy to want for new big modes each game, but with 8 modes (plus tableturf and trio-color turf wars) refining and adding more to them is ok by me. this game is still as packed as ever, and personally still enough new with weapon kits, maps, customization to keep the game fresh for me

I'm excited for this game. I haven't played Splatoon 2 in years since I lost my cartridge somehow... But will definitely get this game. The outfits are amazing as always and the music sounds awesome! Hopefully they add new modes down the line but ain't holding my breathe (something like free for all, 6v6, 3v3v3, etc.). Happy that all the old weapons will be there day one. Salmon run looks awesome as always, will sink tons of time on that mode.

The only improvement I want to see is a F$%*&@# local multiplayer, you know... like we had in the first splatoon. Why can we not get a local multiplayer setup with multiple people being able to play on a single switch or make a local lobby for multiple switches with multiple players to join in on. Sheesh! This doesn't seem that complicated, but Nintendo keep missing the mark on this one. I'm planning to get the game, but I'm still gonna wonder why the heck they keep omitting this aspect of the game!

hmm, not sure about the new Turf War.

Holy farts this game looks amazing. Cannot wait!

I'd like to practice against CPU as well.

"Also glad that the primary ability bonus of outfits can be changed, now. I definitely would've switched my fashion up more in Splatoon 2 if that had been a feature. Wish they would've also done the same with the weapons' specials/sub-items, though."

Yes!!! This new feature is a godsend, and I think it's something that veterans will appreciate very much. I would have changed outfits more often as well had Splatoon 2 offered this.

I felt the Direct was ok, not fantastic but ok.

I like that they're doing a Mario Kart pre-MK8 DLC approach to stage choices where you have some new stages, some Splatoon 1 stages that didn't appear in Splatoon 2 and some Splatoon 2 stages. Hopefully more Splatoon 1 stages that didn't appear in Splatoon 2 appear later on like Saltspray Rig and Urchin Underpass.

I also like the idea of the new 3 way Splatfests, the single player looks interesting and it's nice that there's single player DLC coming in the future.

But there's things I don't like such as no new modes for the main multiplayer, the customization being so heavily tied to FOMO like your traditional live service game and the card game looks like it'll be a long grind to get a decent deck.

@Franklin That would be good as well.

Will they have fixed the connection issues?

Looks so good. Kind of expected some more ambitious additions, but overall this is going to be great. Kinda bummed it’s launching with the same ranked modes

@farore311 agreed. I’d also prefer the maps not to be on timed rotation.

I purchased our Switch systems in order to play Splatoon 2. That game was the first game I owned, and we bought 3 copies so that my sons and I can play together. So I love the series. That being said, 3 doesn't look like it's delivering anything "NEW". It looks great, I'll most likely buy it, I'm just not as pumped as I was for the first two.

I can understand why some think this all sounds too familiar, yet I think this game will absolutely refine and enhance the existing Splatoon formula.

There are some seriously good QOL changes in this package. I’m very pleased that I can now actually practice before a match instead of waiting minutes doing nothing but mess with music in 2 or play an arcade minigame in 1, though I do miss the latter. The ability to choose to join others in a match should help with matchmaking, which has been a major headache for the series. More Customization is more than welcome. Salmon Run mostly seems unchanged besides the new bosses and egg throwing, but I’m intrigued by the whole scenario of Salmonids invading Splatsville. Is that a special occurrence or a separate mode?

Yeeeaaaahhhh, this Direct does almost nothing to address the concerns of "this looks too much like Splatoon 2". Everyone's waiting for new gameplay modes to shake up the game and they give us... pseudo-Tetris and 3 sided Splatfests. I mean, it could be worse, but that's not great. Skipping this for sure.

In all honesty, the thing that interests me the most is the restock of the Squid Sisters and the Off The Hook amiibo. Those will be the only Splatoon amiibo in my collection so far. If there's still money, the new trio will also be a part of the collection.

Hard pass for me after the direct. Enjoy for those who get it.

Looks like great additions. The new movement, weapons and specials look fantastic. Definitely they will mix up meta depending how powerful those rolls i frames are.

Also they didn't really say it but you can see in Rainmaker there is actually now a closer check point platform instead of just 1. I assume the Rainmaker will reset there instead of back in the middle. So there might be other changes to the ranked modes.

Did they mention if Stages will still be on that stupid timed rotation or if everything except Turf War will be locked behind Ranked again?

Man, was really hoping for that rumored Splatoon BR…

I truly don't understand what people expect an online team shooter sequel to offer, aside from new maps, new weapons, new cosmetics, new modes, new offline single-player story and new music. It looks like Splatoon, and that's the game I want.

Sure, they could have just updated Splatoon 2 and not charged us for it - it's a huge update, but you can argue that they could have done it. But in the grand scheme of things, I paid $60 for Splatoon 2 and played it for something like 200 hours. It was the third most-played game on my launch day Switch. Even if you add S2's share of the NSO service that I pay for, that's a really low cost per hour of entertainment. I'm okay with paying another $60 for another 100-200 hours of splatting.

The three-way turf war sounds interesting, but I wasn't very excited by anything else.

@BenAV I agree completely. Looking forward to it. I just sent you a friend request on my switch if you want to try to play together sometime. My play activity is all screwed up since I started playing on my OLED last October and it rest all of my play times…

It looks great so far- and super fun for online players mainly. But for people who don’t play online, what they call story mode feels like a series of challenges and it felt super underwhelming. I was expecting a game on par with Ratchet and Clank. And it’s sad because all the concepts and gameplay would feel great if set into a great single player game. It is quite disappointing considering Switch has no AAA Third Person shooters of the same quality (not graphics) like Uncharted, Gears, Ratchet, MGS, Mass Effect… on the other hand, people who prefer online have a ton of options with-Warframe, Fortnite, and so on, but NOTHING for Singleplayer enthusiasts:(

Can’t wait for this game!!!

Article says Big Man is a stingray, but I’m pretty sure he’s a Manta Ray, based on his colouring and the wordplay.

@EarthboundBenjy I played Splatoon 1 not long ago on my Wii U and it still had people playing online for Turf Wars. You will still have people not wanting to take the dive into 3 right away or at all. 2 will still be active.

I've never felt anything for the idols and their designs continue to leave me cold, but that manta ray, now that's what I'm about. Looks like it might actually be worth purchasing this one since I skipped Splatoon 2, but still a very low priority purchase. Online shooters just get stale very quickly by their very nature, where progression comes down to just seeing a number go up with victories that grow more and more meaningless. If I had some friends who'd be into this then I could see myself playing it for much longer but alas.

Nothing about a 4-player split screen option so this game is dead to me. Nintendo need to realise not everyone wants to play online, or even can play online (if they don't fork out for an online membership). Split screen gaming used to be the cornerstone of Nintendo family games and it's stunning Splatoon is now into its third iteration of lacking such an obvious, and quite basic, feature.

I think it certainly feels like a full new entry, there is loads of tweaks and new stuff. Especially Tableturf Battle, looks really cool!

@JasmineDragon I agree. I just hope they put in all the splatoon 2 salmon run maps so I don’t have to cycle between games.

This will be my first foray into the Splatoon series and honestly this looks great. So much content!

“Nintendo appears to have run out of two-sided battles to pit Splatoon players against each other, as the new Turf Wars gimmick in Splatoon 3 is three-sided battles.”

Why the negative connotation in this? It’s not a gimmick. It as desirable mode that players have asked for. “Appears to have run out” no? Two Team battles are still the main mode. And you titled this section “Three-Player Turf Wars” which is incorrect. It’s Three Team.

After watching the entire direct last night I'm pretty stoked. It looks like there is so much to do. Like a more colorful Monster Hunter with vs combat being focus over co-op. My fall game for sure! (I'm not forgetting you my dearest Pokemon)

@HalBailman My bet is Nintendo does realize that. So they make other games that cater to you. No game appeals to everyone.

It’s a cool new mode, but it appears to be limited to Splatfests, which ultimately limits how often players can enjoy it. New modes are great, but when you can only play them once a month or so, they’re limited in their value to the overall package.

I've been scanning through these again and I've just realised something: you can take photos with the amiibo. Not much of a surprise when they showed that off in the Direct itself but what makes me ecstatic is that Smallfry is an amiibo. MEANING WE CAN TAKE PICTURES WITH HIM AAAAAAAAAAAAH!

@moonymarauder it's just a joke about the reason for three-sided Turf Wars being that Nintendo ran out of two-sided arguments, like ice cream vs chocolate or whatever. It's not actually true.

Can't wait until table turf is going to be made physical in some fashion. All you need is a grid, some chits, and the cards.

What's the point of not bringing back all specials and stages?

So sick that rank carries over from 2

@h15c0r3r @farore311 it seems like you sort of can. there was a part about cell phones and you can make the news transfer to the top left corner to finish playing while you get moving around.

I dont understand the splatfest problem, coming back

@Sonos That's where you're wrong. This game does appeal to me, and if it had a split screen mode, it would be a compelling buy. You see many people mention that online gaming doesn't interest them, and so Nintendo, in their dumb wisdom, miss sales.

looks interesting, but the new blonde announcer girl looks terrible.

@silverninja I hadn’t picked up on that, well spotted.
