ASAP's community skill park in Palayad

Dharmadom: Defining new horizons in skill development, ASAP’s community skill park has become a reality in Palayad, Kannur. This is the largest skill park in the state. ASAP which expands as Additional Skill Acquisition Programme is a venture by Kerala’s Education Department that focuses on sharpening the students' skills to make them more employable.

The skill park in Palayad is the first skill park build with the aid of Asian Development Bank and construction was completed in the second phase of the project including 16 skill parks. Nine were completed in the first phase. The charge of the skill park goes to Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF). The skill park will be inaugurated by CM Pinarayi Vijayan at 11.30 am on Tuesday.

Tool Engineering and Digital Manufacturing Diploma, Tool Designing Post Diploma, Precision and CNC Machining, Conventional and CNC Vertical Milling, Conventional and CNC Turning.

Those who complete the courses will be given a diploma certificate and various skill certificates given by the central agency National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Those interested to study abroad will be given NOCN (UK) certificate.

Smart classrooms are equipped with high tension electricity, heavy machinery with LPG connection, processing, precision, activity labs, internet, public addressing system, and projector.

Build at 33,780 square feet. Construction was completed using prefabrication technology. Differently-abled friendly.

IT labs with network connection, library, meeting room, changing rooms, toilets on all floors, lift facility, office rooms, staff rooms, dining area, napkin vending machine, napkin incinerator, 66,000 litre capacity rain harvesting system, CCTV and fire alarm system.
